Germany visitor visas
Last reviewed 5 September 2026
Germany is a member of the Schengen zone, so most visitors apply for a short-stay Schengen visa through a German consulate rather than a separate national visitor visa. Some nationalities do not need a visa at all for short stays - always check current requirements for your passport before applying.
